Cobalt Decorated Bird on Branch Stoneware Pitcher and Crock, probably New York state, c. 1870, the baluster-form pitcher with applied reeded strap handle, incised lines around rim and middle, decorated with three diminishing squiggle brushstrokes under the spout and a bird on a branch; the two-gallon crock with applied lug handles ornamented with a bird on a fruiting branch, both with Albany slip-glazed interiors, (minor hairline and spout chip on pitcher, rim chip on crock), ht. 11, 7 1/4 in.
