Pair of Black Folk Art Dolls, America, early to mid 20th century, the dolls constructed with walnut heads and painted features, fabric and papier mache wrapped wire bodies, felt hands, the woman wears a flowered bonnet with a felt bow and a plaid dress, she holds a fan in one hand and a painted tin pill box "purse," in the other, the man wears a felt hat, plaid shirt, bandana, and trousers supported with suspenders, and plays a banjo made from a face powder box, (minor wear), ht. 9 1/2 in.
