Silver Sauce Boat, retailed by Ball, Tompkins & Black, New York, New York, c. 1849, large deep bowl with wide pouring spout, reeded scrolled rim, hollow S-shaped handle with acanthus leaf grip, the underside of the bowl with retailer's mark and the makers initials "WF," applied oval footed base with leaf band, engraved monogram under the spout dated "April 17th 1849," ht. 5 3/4 in., approx. 14 troy oz.
