Two Chinese Export Armorial Porcelain Dishes, a rectangular dish, c. 1765, centered with the arms of Mills impaling Hatch, with spearhead and floral borders, made for William Mills of London who married Elizabeth Hatch of Clabery Hall in Essex, whose son was a director of the Hon. East India Company, (see D.S. Howard, Chinese Export Armorial Porcelain Volume II, p. 448), 8 7/8 x 11 1/2; together with an oval dish c. 1760, centered with the arms of MacGregor for the chief of that clan, probably John MacGregor, a colonel in the East India Company service who was created a Baronet, with a bamboo and flowering vine border, (see Howard, Chinese Export Armorial Porcelain, Volume I, p. 385), (rim repairs, glaze wear), dia. 14 3/8 in.
