Academy Paint Decorated Fan, Hadley, Massachusetts, early 19th century, twelve-sided fan with watercolor painted decoration, one side depicting a spreadwing eagle over a scene with buildings beside a waterway with vessels, with floral border and applied gilt paper borders, the reverse painting depicting a flower-filled vase, green grosgrain ribbon trim, (toning, crease), 13 1/2 x 11 1/4 in.
