Needlework Sampler, "Ann F. Shermans Sampler Worked In 1830," the sampler worked in silk threads on a linen ground with an octagonal reserve with stitched lettering "The Happy Union T&S S," flanked by baskets of fruit above an octagonal oblong reserve with a verse, maker's name, and year, over a house flanked by urns of flowers, all enclosed in a geometric flowering vine, (toning, thread losses to background fabric at center), 16 x 17 1/2 in., in a contemporary molded giltwood frame.
