George Nakashima (1905-1990) Conoid chair New Hope, Pennsylvania. c. 1969 Curved crest rail over hickory spindles joined to walnut saddle seat on cantilevered legs, marked with owner's name under seat, ht. 35 1/2, wd. 19 3/4, dp. 21 in. Provenance: Morton Broffman was an executive with United Fruit. He and his late wife commissioned Mr. Nakashima to fabricate this chair. They had lived in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
