Plains Wood and Metal Coup Stick, Sisseton Sioux, c. last quarter 19th century, in the form of a knife blade club, with one small metal blade remaining, incised lines and circles, a carved cylinder with "salt and pepper" bead wrap, and a separate horsehair wrapped staff, both have trade cloth wrapped horsehair drops, traces of red pigment, includes an old tag which reads, "Fine Sisseton Sioux Coup Stick with scalp locks, property of old Crazy Bull," lg. 32 1/2 in. Provenance: George Rich III.
