Sherman Foote Denton (American, 1856-1937). A collection of four chromolithographs on paper depicting various fish, comprising of "The Brook Trout", "The Pike Perch or Wall-Eyed Pike", "Steelhead or Salmon Trout", and "The Brown Trout", each with a colorfully rendered fish at top with its common and scientific names inscribed below, also inscribed within plate lower left. Framed approximately 16.5" x 21.5", sight size approximately 6" x 10.875". Note: Sherman Foote Denton was a naturalist, artist, and author and is best known for his chromolithographs of the fish of New York State, which were used to illustrate the New York State Fish and Game Commission annual reports from 1895 to 1907.
