Frederick James Herschleb (American, 1917-2010), "Plainscape"-1985, watercolor on illustration board, signed and dated lower right. Landscape painting depicting vast open desert space, dirt road in foreground leading to small town in distance, tall grass lining the road. Framed approximately 28" x 35.75". Unframed approximately 21.75" x 29". Note: Herschleb met his wife, Sydney Cavenagh during their art studies at Oberlein College in Ohio. They shortly thereafter moved to New York where they both pursued their art careers. Herschleb worked as an advertising art director and was an avid watercolorist as well as a craftsman and builder.
