Exhibition Black Forest Musical Cathedral Clock Representing Notre Dame, with Roman dial and brass two-train movement striking the hours and the halves on gong and tripping the eight-air part-mandoline (scattered groups of up to four teeth) key-wind cylinder movement, No. 18620, on the hour, the governor-cock stamped BAB , in carved architectural walnut case with clustered pillars at four corners of the two towers, steeple with vertical Gothic balustrade supporting pierced galleries below, glazed windows, carved figures of saints in alcoves, on walnut base with foliate corner scrolls, central crest, engraved gilt-brass controls for stop, instant stop and change / repeat, and plaque B. A. Bremond, Manufacturer, Geneva, Switzerland , overall ht. 27 in., cylinder 13 in., (some minor losses, approx. six old tip and five tooth repairs). Note: B.A. Bremond is known to have produced a number of elaborate musical boxes on commission and for exhibition. The presentation plaques on this clock suggest that it is was either made to order for a client, or possibly for display in Bremond's own premises.
