Wax-over Papier-mache Girl with Long Blonde Curls and Provenance, probably Germany, c. 1860s, pale blue stationary glass eyes, closed mouth, center part blonde hair with sausage curls falling onto shoulders (overall pitting, wear to chin and nose, staining to finish, possible old retouch), cloth body, composition lower limbs (damages), knit bootines, original white cotton undergarments, blue and white cotton dress, written on legs "Given to Helene Oct. 1933 from Bristol R.I., age of doll 67 yrs in 1933," thus dating the doll to 1866, ht. 18 1/2 in.
