Large Black Basalt Footed Bowl, England, 19th century, drapery swags in high relief, acanthus leaf foot, dia. 17 1/4 in. Note: Paper accompanying the bowl reads "Dec.2nd 1919 Mr. Harry Barnard of Josiah Wedgwood & Sons Museum at Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent, wrote, after seeing Miss Ellen Rickman's china: That her black Basalte Ware Bowl or Vase was an approximate copy, made by Messrs Wedgwood, of the old font at Essenden Church, Herts."
