Roullet et Decamps Drinking Bear Automaton, with brown fur-covered body, glass eyes, articulated jaw, carved paws with defined claws holding pewter tankard and bottle, the open-spring mechanism with stop / start in body causing the bear to pour liquid from bottle with two movements of his left arm, raise the tankard to his mouth, and tilt his head back as he drains the cup delightedly, the liquid flowing through rubber tubes in his left arm and returning to the bottle in his right, ht. 16 in., (good working condition), five movements. Note: A very similar automaton was featured in the Michael Caine & Laurence Olivier film, Sleuth .
