English Poured Wax Doll, c. 1880, probably Montanari , with overall soft pink coloring, black glass eye, molded lids, shapely and deeply modeled mouth, redder-toned in center (very fine line right side of jaw at neck), dark brown inset human hair with center part, and loosely-stuffed cloth body with wax lower arms and legs, in white cotton undergarments, ivory-toned dress with embroidery (some staining), old leghorn straw hat with purple ribbon trim, cream colored stockings, and scalloped-top brown leather high tie boots (worn, cracking, stitched), ht. 20 1/2 in.
