Roullet et Decamps Automaton of a Spanish Tambourine-Player, c. 1885, with unmarked pressed bisque Jumeau head stamped E , closed mouth, straight neck, fixed blue glass eyes, multi-stroke brows, and pierced ears, her torso padded to emphasize décolleté costume, her right bisque hands holding aloft a tambourine connected by ribbon to the left, on velvet-covered base containing single-air going barrel movement causing the lady to turn her head and shake the tambourine, in the original elaborate box-pleated plumb satin costume decorated with lace and metal soutache braid, beaded red velvet waistcoat, gold satin sleeves and matching slippers, ht. 16 3/4 in., (missing left middle finger, some wear to costume but overall fine original condition).
