Rare French Magician's Fortune Teller Doll, c. 1865, with early bisque head of Huret type, accented closed mouth, painted pale-blue eyes with delicate lashes and feathered brows, kid body with "mitten" hands, hip gussets and skirt formed by polychrome blank paper fortunes, in the original robes of alternating black and faded crimson satin, magician's staff, hat and cloak decorated with metal-thread braid and brass alchemical symbols including sun, moon, dove, and pelican, ht. 16 in., on original turned stand.
