Attributed to Thomas Chambers (London, New York, and Boston, 1808-1866) The Sawmill at Rockwell Falls, Lake Luzerne, Warren County, New York. Unsigned, scene labeled on reverse. Oil on canvas, 18 1/4 x 24 1/4 in., in a gilt gesso frame. Condition: Canvas taped along edges, craquelure. Note: The gorge portrayed here shows the narrowest point in the Hudson River between the villages of Lake Luzerne and Hadley, New York. Stone's Mountain can be seen in the background.
