Needlework Sampler, "Wrought by Sarah Withington aged 12 Years June 19th 1817," possibly Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, worked in wool and silk threads on a linen ground, with rows of alphabets above a pious verse, the lower panel centered with a brick house flanked by trees, a woman picking flowers, and pedestals with urns issuing flowering vines, (toning, minor stitch losses), 17 x 14 1/2 in. in a later mahogany frame.
