Paint Decorated Tinware Trunk, America, early 19th century, dome top trunk with hinged lid, the front panel painted white decorated with red and green tulips and flowers centered with a rectangular reserve with the name "J. M. Whitcher" painted in yellow on a black ground, the sides decorated with white bands with similar floral decoration, on a black ground with yellow foliate brushstrokes, (wear), ht. 7, wd. 10, dp. 6 1/2 in.
