Adelaide Lawson Gaylor (American, 1889-1986) Family Signed "A. LAWSON" l.r. Oil on canvas, 38 x 26 in. (96.5 x 66.0 cm), unframed. Condition: Retouch, abrasions, rubs, creases, losses, surface grime. Retouch is scattered small areas. Damage to tacking edge. Abrasions with losses throughout, although predominately at the edges. Light creases and surface rubs throughout. Also, areas of unstable flaking (see in areas of white pigment in shoes of female figure). The work would benefit from a gentle cleaning.
