George Arthur Hays (American, 1854-1945) Lot of Two Landscapes with Grazing Cattle: In the Glen, Near Saylisville (sic) and Near Woron River Each signed "G A Hays" l. l., identified on labels affixed to the reverse. Watercolor and gouache on paper, sight sizes to 10 1/2 x 12 1/2 in. (26.6 x 31.8 cm), framed. Condition: Staining and/or foxing, not examined out of frames. Provenance: Purchased from the artist, then by descent to the present owner. The toning is subtle. The smaller work has pale foxing throughout the composition. Although they have not been removed from their frames, there are no other visible condition issues to report.
