Henry VII, King of England (1457-1509), Manuscript signed document, dated 1487, two pages, large folio, describing a listing of household accounts, signed by sign manual and authenticated twice in the king's hand, framed, 16 1/4 by 11 in. (some staining around top edge, some fold weakness, age typical defects). Note: Through Henry VII's defeat of Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth Field, Henry essentially ended the famous War of the Roses between the Houses of York and Lancaster. His subsequent marriage to Elizabeth York gave rise to the house of Tudor and the symbol of the Tudor Rose, the combination of the two roses of the York and Lancastrian houses.
