Adams / 99 Washington St. / Boston" canvas stencil on the reverse, oil on canvas, framed. Condition: Some inpainting. N.B. The sitter (b. 1801, Palermo, Italy; d. 1853, Boston, MA) was a professor of foreign languages at Harvard University, ca. 1827.
