Byzantine Revival 18kt Gold and Polychrome Cloisonne Enamel "Dagmar" Cross, 19th century, the obverse centering Christ flanked by Saints John Chrysostom, John the Evangelist, Basil, and the Madonna, the reverse a crucifix, 1 3/8 x 1 1/4 in. Note:The original cross, dating from around 1000, derives its name from Queen Dagmar of Denmark (d. 1212) and was found in her grave when it was opened in 1690.
