This painting was once owned by the novelist, screenwriter, and playwright Hugh Wheeler. Born in London, he moved to America and became a citizen. His projects include Sweeney Todd , A Little Night Music , and Candide . A photo-certificate of authenticity from Maurice Garnier accompanies the lot.
