Northwest Coast Polychrome Carved Wood Shaman's Rattle, c. last quarter 19th century, one side carved in the form of a stylized face with paws (?) below the chin, with painted animal ears at the top and painted details, the back painted with a stylized human (?) figure below similar animal ears, red, green, and black pigments, (replaced pegs secure the two sides, glued repair), dark patina, lg. 8 1/4, wd. 2 1/2 in.
