Classical Carved Mahogany and Mahogany Veneer Desk Bookcase, possibly New York, c. 1820, the top section with flat molded cornice above two glazed doors opening to adjustable shelves set on a projecting case of inlaid drawer, the front of which opens and folds down to reveal an interior of central prospect door flanked by four drawers and valanced compartments, all above two hinged doors with carved arched panels opening to two drawers, flanked by acanthus scroll-carved capitals and plinths, all on turned feet, refinished, (minor imperfections), ht. 96 1/2, wd. 46 3/4, dp. 21 in.
