Shaker Oval Covered Box, probably Mt. Lebanon, New York, late 19/early 20th century, maple sides with four lapped fingers secured with copper tacks, pine top and bottom, the exterior varnished, the interior lined with green satin, ht. 4 1/4, dia. 10 3/8 in. Note: An indistinct penciled inscription on the base indicates it was used by Sister Louisa Poice, who was brought to Mt. Lebanon by her mother when she was an infant, and later became a Deaconess and a nurse, remaining active till her 91st year.
