Needlework Sampler, executed by "Lucia Carpenter, AE 12 Years Strafford Nov 2 1822," probably New Hampshire, silk threads on a linen ground with seven rows of alphabets and numbers over signature row, lower register stitched with two houses, a weeping willow tree, fence, trees and shrubs, and a birdhouse on a post, enclosed on three sides with a diamond border, (toning, fading), 17 1/2 x 12 3/4 in. , in an early 20th century mahogany veneer frame.
