Classical Gilt Gesso and Wood Carved Mirror, John Steen, New York, c. 1825, the molded cornice with applied drop acorns above a frieze with a central basket of fruit and acanthus leaves above the two-part glass, all flanked by capitals with applied dolphins above the vase and ring-turned, spiral-carved split balusters, original gilding, (imperfections), ht. 36, wd. 22 1/2 in. Note: Back with paper label reading "JOHN STEEN, CARVER AND GILDER, LOOKING-GLASS AND PICTURE FRAME MANUFACTURER, NO. 161, Fulton-street, NEW YORK."
