Large Hannah Davis Wallpaper-covered Bandbox, Jaffrey, New Hampshire, c. 1834, the nailed wooden box covered in a design depicting a lady seated side-saddle on a horse, having a conversation with a gentleman wearing a top hat, in a country setting with a church and trees, in green, yellow, and white varnish, on a blue ground, ht. 15 1/2, wd. 15 1/2, lg. 20 in. Top darkened with age, and faded, areas of separation around rim and base , box with heavy wear, faded and scattered losses around the edges
