American School, 19th Century Residence of Washington. Indistinctly signed "E.-. Pl-in-" l.r., dated "October 1851" l.l., titled below. Charcoal on sandpaper, depicting Mount Vernon and surrounding garden overlooking the Potomac River with two sailing vessels, 10 x 14 in., in a period mahogany veneered frame. Condition: Very good. the design is scratched through the charcoal, through to the white paper.
