Paint Decorated Pine Box, America, late 19th century, rectangular box with hinged lid painted dark blue with yellow and red decoration with scrolls, striping, and rosettes, inscribed "BALL BARTLETT," in yellow lettering on the front, (scattered paint losses), ht. 6 1/2, wd. 6 1/4, lg. 14 3/4 in. box repainted c. 1880, it's some sort of old tool box, at one time had three interior shelves, iron hinges look original, two applied old brass element on front -don't know what they were for but they're painted over with the later paint.
