Needlework Sampler, "Mary Cynthia Mitchell was born July 28 1809... Bridgewater," the sampler worked in silk threads on a linen ground, depicting three alphabet panels above signature lettering and a pious verse at lower left and a two potted plants at lower right, top and bottom sawtooth borders, (toning, stains), 15 1/2 x 15 1/2 in., in a molded curly maple frame. Provenance: Ex collection of Robert Roche.
