Chinese Export Porcelain "Cherry Pickers" Plate, c. 1780, made for the European market, painted in a Mandarin palette, depicting a youth standing on a ladder propped against a cherry tree, handing the fruit to two ladies below, one gathering the cherries in her apron, the other seated beside a nearby dog, the rim ornamented with a border of iron-red landscape panels alternating with purple foliate scrolls issuing from small panels of puce scalework within an iron red scrolled edge band, (hairline, minor enamel wear), dia. 8 7/8 in. 2 in. hairline from rim, scattered enamel wear most prvalent on skirt of female figure near dog.
