Four Chinese Export Porcelain Plates, 18th century, including two plates with polychrome enamel decoration centered with an egret, rockery and flowers, with a gilt spearhead cavetto border, the rim border with fowl and flowers; a plate with central grisaille scene with two cherubs grappleing (one probably Cupid), in a shell surround above a banner inscribed "BELLUM AMORIS INCENDIUM" (fiery war of love), bianco-sopra-bianco rim border with rococo reserves with floral and fruit motifs, the underside of the rim bordered with bamboo, flowers and fruit; and a plate with underglaze blue, iron red, and enamel decoration centered with a vase flanked by scrolls, blossom, and two other articles, bordered by flowers, scrolls, armital, and other devices, with gilt highlights, the underside with four blossoms around rim, (imperfections), dia. 9, 10, 8 5/8 in., respectively. 2 egret plates-1. enamel wear to egret and legs, rockery, outlining and border areas. 2. same as previous. Cupid plate- few rim repairs to underside of rim, small areas of enamel loss, mainly to flower sprigs. vase plate- scratches to vase decoration, repair to chip on underside of rim.
