Three Articles Bottles, America, late 19th-late 20th century, the first is a carved model of the rigged three-masted vessel "California" which is identified by a printed paper label affixed to the bow, with a carved wooden stopper with the initial "G," mounted loosely in a blown-molded "U. S. MAIL" bottle, patented 1891; the second, a model of the "Ship 'Star of India' Hove to off 'Portland Head,'" which is a screw steamer with four funnels and two masts, identified in inscriptions on the conforming wooden stand, with a carved and painted lighthouse at the base of the bottle; the third is an upright bottle containing a carved and painted ship-in-bottle maker sailor figure at his worktable with his tools and an example of his work, with his parrot, a cat and a mouse nearby, a seagull flies above suspended from a carved and painted sailor figural stopper signed below "C. Bleckenstein 1987," lg. 10 1/8, 12 1/4, ht. 12 1/2 in., respectively. lot 570- U. S. Mail bottle- Peg from stopperloose inside the bottle, scattered spotty residue to interior. Screw steamer- lighthouse segment loose inside bottle. Ship in bottle maker- Very good condition. .
