Pine Chest over Drawer, probably Massachusetts, early 18th century, the rectangular lift top with molded edge opens to a deep well, above a single arch-molded case with two faux drawers and single working drawer, on base with applied molding, all on ball feet, original brass escutcheons, old surface, (imperfections), ht. 32, wd. 35, dp. 16 in. Literature: The Pine Furniture of Early New England, Russell Hawes Kettell, 1929, no. 35, illustrated. some moldings replaced; lacks brass pulls; lacks molding at base on both sides; missing lock; insect damage on feet.
