Fancy Painted Chest over Three Drawers, probably Southeastern New England, late 18th century, the molded lift top opens to a well on a case of three thumb-molded graduated drawers, all on applied front bracket and cutout ends, replaced drawer pulls, original grain paint resembling exotic wood, (minor imperfections), ht. 49, wd. 36, dp. 19 in. Note: inscribed on backboard in paint, "1782" minor paint wear, wear and some losses to thumbmolding,
