Molded Copper Horse and Rider Weather Vane, possibly A. L. Jewell, Waltham, Massachusetts, (active 1850-63), featuring a gentleman rider wearing a stovepipe hat seated atop a flattened full-body horse with pierced eyes, embossed sheet copper tail, copper wire reins, mounted on a zinc bar wrapped in sheet copper further mounted on a wooden plank, weathered surface with verdigris, yellow sizing, and traces of gilt, (minor imperfections), total ht. 23, lg. 19 in. Provenance: Stephen Score, Boston, Massachusetts. several small bullet dents, about 2 in. vertical separation on vertical front leg, and loss on copper rod.
