James Abbott McNeill Whistler (American, 1834-1903) Billingsgate, 1859, state six or later of eight (Kennedy, 47). Signed in the plate. Etching on paper, plate size 6 x 8 7/8 in. (15.0 x 22.5 cm), framed Condition: Margins 1 1/2 inches or more, glued down to support at edges, glue, residue and losses to margins near edges, foxing. N.B. A label inscribed "Yours truly, Js Mc.N.Whistler" presumably in the artist's, affixed to the face of the mat.
