Queen Anne Red-painted Birch Tall Clock, Benjamin Willard, Lexington, Massachusetts, c. 1766-71, the dome top hood with gilded ball and spire finials, arched and glazed hood door flanked by free-standing columns, tombstone-shaped waist door and low bracket feet all housing an eight day, brass time and strike movement on a dovetailed seating board, and engraved, silvered sheet brass dial with moon's age dial in the arch and signed Benja. Willard, Lexington , (imperfections), ht. 89 in. Benjamin Willard tall clocks marked Lexington are exceedingly rare and document Willard's brief time with the Mulliken family of clock makers.
