Attributed to James Sanford Ellsworth (American, 1802/03- 1874) Portrait of a Woman Wearing a Lace Bonnet. Unsigned. Watercolor on paper, c. 1840-45, depicting the woman in profile seated on a fanciful green upholstered chair with gold painted frame, her head and chair surrounded by shaded gray cloud-like formations, sight size 3 1/8 x 2 3/4 in., in a period molded black painted wood frame. Condition: Minor toning, small paint loss.
