Hooked Sisal and Cotton Pictorial Mat with Arctic Sailing Vessels at Sunset, attributed to Grenfell Labrador Industries, Newfoundland and Labrador, early 20th century, the elongated rectangular mat composed of dyed sisal twine and cotton strips hooked onto a burlap backing, depicting six sailing vessels with ice floes, and the sun setting on the horizon, worked in shades of brown, off-white, blue, black, and green, and blue, with thin black borders, a woven maker's label affixed to the reverse, 15 5/8 x 50 1/2 in.
