Portrait Miniature of a Young Child with a Rattle, attributed to Clarissa Peters, (1809-1854), North Andover, Massachusetts, c. 1844, watercolor on ivory, the seated child wears a white dress, while holding a blue and yellow rattle, on a red cushion, 3 x 2 in., in a later purple velvet covered frame with oval brass liner. Condition: Imperfections. Note: Clarissa Peters became Mrs. Moses Russell and developed a specialty in children's portrait miniatures.
