Turn--g Feb. 18th 1843, on a label affixed to the frame and an inscription on the reverse "...painted by W.G.F.W....."; watercolor on ivory bust-length profile portrait of the woman facing left, wearing a plaid dress, seated in a chair in a room with drapery, a vase with flowers on a tabletop, and a painting on the wall, 2 5/8 x 2 in., mounted in a period wood frame with gilt liner. Condition: Very good.
