Arthur Burdett Frost (American, 1851-1928) The New Lochinvar Signed and dated "A. B. FROST 1885", identified on a label affixed to the mat (see below), inscribed in the margins. Pen on paper, image size 9 1/2 x 14 1/4 in. (24.1 x 36.2 cm), unframed, matted. Condition: Subtle toning with soiling, creases, tears, and pinhole punctures (not extending into the image). N.B. Referencing the label, this illustration for a poem by Will Carleton was first published in Harper's Weekly on September 19, 1885, and later in the book City Ballads .
