Two Mennonite Pieced Cotton Striped Quilts, America, early 20th century, the first composed of twenty-eight long joined strips of woven cotton fabric in shades of red, yellow, green, brown, and black, backed with a floral printed maroon cotton and brought around to form the thin border, each strip with leaf, undulating wave, crenellated, diamond, sawtooth, chain, or shell quilting stitches, (minor small stains), 79 x 74 in.; the second composed of thirty-five long joined strips of red, yellow, taupe, brown, and black woven cotton fabric with a wide perpendicular border of the same, quilted with alternating chain and diamond stitches, red cotton edging, 82 1/2 x 71 1/2 in., mounted to a wood frame.
