Steiff White Mohair Teddy Bear, circa 1905, with shoebutton eyes, brown embroidered nose, mouth and claws, blank ear button and paper tag 5317 geschutzt , excelsior-stuffed body with back hump and cream felt paws, ht. 10 in., (overall fine condition, small restitch in upper left arm seam at shoulder joint). Owned by Frances Eunice Moseley of Boulder, Colorado, who was born February 2. 1905 and died July 15. 1907 in Loveland, Colorado. This teddy and the following items were lovingly packed in a box after Frances died and not opened again until 2006: three studio photographs of Frances mounted on board, small box of cards and correspondence from her parents, a pair of white kid baby shoes, bone-handled hair brush, comb (broken), ivory folding weekly note pad, tin flute, two pencils, one picture block, pair of red felt mittens, a string of nickel bells, tin rattle, rubber doll (crushed), doll purse and leather folding case, Frances' white lawn christening dress, white lace bonnet, the white lawn dress that she wore in the photographs, blue printed cotton dress, and a blue calico sun bonnet.
